The township of Stanley is in the far Northwest of Tasmania and sits below a rock formation known as "The Nut".

It is one of THE places to visit if you are ever touring the island.

HAWLEY ABSTRACT

My wife Val and I went to Hawley today, a lovely seaside hamlet on the Northern Tasmanian coast. It was about 24c and beautifully sunny.

I took 111 photos and I thought I'd share some with you over the next week.

Today's image comes from one of the huge range of rock patterns to be found.

NATURAL GRAFFITI

I often look for rocks with patterns and use them in my art. This rock will feature in a future drawing.

ABSTRACT

I was rather taken with this pattern that I have featured today on a rock that I photographed last Sunday in the snow. It's strange seeing such a strong red on a rock in Winter. Mind you, this is Tasmania!
