CASSIUS THE CROCODILE

When I last visited Cassius at his home on Green Island, near Cairns, all I could see was his head. This time he was more obliging (and hungry).
On May 21st Cassius celebrated his 110th birthday and was given a 20kg chicken cake, that he destroyed in 30 seconds!
At 5.48m Cassius is the largest crocodile in the world that is kept in captivity. He eats 1kg of chicken or fish each day.

FLECKER GARDENS Part 1.

I've just returned from a week in Cairns that included another visit to the famous Flecker Gardens. Today I feature my favourite tropical flower, the Heliconia.
