RELIGIOUS SYMBOLISM

This photo of bread is an idea I had for a Holy Communion theme.

I have found 'bread' an inspiring subject to work with. In fact, I'm 're-visiting' this theme in my art (drawing) at present and I'm grateful for the large amount of research I did on this subject last year as it has given me many examples to choose from and develop.

RELIGIOUS ART

Before I put pencil to pastel board I need to research my latest work, the first of which will be shown tomorrow.

My research on this occasion has involved a deal of still-life photography. Today's featured photo is one of these images and is about baptism and a 'loghenge'. My artblog will explain more as the week progresses.

If I decide to use today's image in a drawing it will contain other symbols that enhance what I am trying to say. I enjoy this type of planning as ideas grow as I explore the possibilities each idea has.

NEW WORK

Today I have been processing a series of photos that I took yesterday as an introduction to a new theme of coloured pencil drawings that I wish to undertake.

I will be working on a theme that has been influenced by 'Stonehenge', on England's Salisbury Plain. I have already work under the title of 'Loghenge', and wanted this to be an extension that is related to the Holy Trinity.

Today I 'built' another structure that I will photograph tomorrow. I will keep you posted on further developments and talk about where I intend to go with this work.
