RESEARCH
As part of the research I do for my coloured pencil drawings, I often create "still-life" situations that I photograph. Some end up as coloured pencil works, others as (printable) photographs while the rest are filed for possible future reference.Today's featured image is part of a much larger work that will be featured as a drawing in the forthcoming Eskleigh Art Award.

THE OPEN DOOR
Today I have been working on an idea for a coloured pencil drawing. It features a mug that has been left on a table in an old farm building.I particularly like the shaft of light coming from a crack in the rear wall and the graffiti on the door.
This drawing will be quite a challenge. I will need to make it large (80 x 60 cm) in order to show the marks on the door and the detail in the room.
